Trying to find the exact same coleus you see in a picture is a gamble sometimes. But there are so many varieties until you are bound to find something very close (or very different) to what you are looking to buy!

3. Harvesting Seeds
You will notice that your coleus will start to grow flowers later in the growing season. If you still want to maximize your blooms, then pinch this flower off for continued growth. If your flower is nearing the end of the growing season, you may want to keep the flower because this is where the seeds are located.
This flower grows from the middle of the plant on a long stem. Allow it to grow and turn brown. Once it has turned brown, pinch it off and put it in a brown paper bag or envelope. After a couple of weeks or when the flower has completely dried out, shake the bag vigorously and open it. You will notice that you have several small black seeds. You can repeat this process of harvesting seeds with the rest of the flowers from your coleus plant. Store these seeds in envelopes for the next growing season (just be sure to label them). Now you have a new supply of coleus for next Spring!
